These are questions a Senate inquiry will investigate as it looks into the labelling of non-animal proteins across the meat and dairy industries. The inquiry has been announced by Queensland Nationals senator and former butcher Susan McDonald. Lobby group WAFarmers has welcomed the inquiry saying the makers of plant-based proteins are immoral in masquerading their products alongside naturally-grown livestock products.
